About Red-Eyed Tree Frogs:

The Red-Eyed Tree Frog is one of the most iconic and photographed amphibians in the world, instantly recognizable by its brilliant red eyes, vibrant green body, blue and yellow striped sides, and bright orange toes! Native to the rainforests of Central America, from southern Mexico to Colombia, these small frogs (2-3 inches long) are masters of camouflage. During the day, they sleep on the underside of leaves with their eyes closed and legs tucked in, appearing as simple green bumps that blend perfectly with foliage. When threatened, they flash their bright red eyes in a defensive behavior called "startle coloration" to surprise and confuse predators! Red-Eyed Tree Frogs have specialized toe pads with sticky mucus that allow them to climb smooth leaves and branches with ease. They're nocturnal hunters, feeding on insects, moths, crickets, and flies. Males call to attract females with a distinctive "chack-chack-chack" sound. Females lay eggs on leaves overhanging water—when tadpoles hatch, they drop into the water below! These beautiful frogs are symbols of rainforest conservation and biodiversity!

Manufactured in China. CollectA amphibian figurines celebrate the incredible diversity of frogs, toads, and salamanders. Jack's has a long standing history of being a Blue Ribbon Breyer dealer since 1994. Ages 3+
